My Process:
Every installation follows a meticulous order of operations to ensure a perfect fit, proper insulation, and a clean finish:
- Carefully remove existing interior trim and brick mould (preserved when possible)
- Remove old door and frame
- Clean and prep hardware for reuse or install new locksets, handles, and deadbolts
- Remove old mortar and insulation; prep the opening
- Install new frame with proper leveling and shimming
- Hang and adjust the new door for smooth operation
- Reinstall original trim or install new moulding as needed
- Install new brick mould and exterior casing
- Apply minimal expanding foam for insulation and draft protection
- Caulk, stain, and finish as required
- Full site cleanup and debris removal
